چکیده

Singbeer, a native of Nepaul. ret. 52 years, a chowkidar or watchman. Three years since my attention was called to this patient oil account of a large swelling occupying the anterior part of the neck?on the right side. It was then causing him no inconvenience except from its weight and large size. The patient was anxious to have the tumour removed ; but on examination it was found to have extensive connections, therefore, for the present, I advised that it should not be interfered with. For two and a half years the increase of the tumour was gradual, but during the last six months its growth became exceedingly rapid, and as very free hemorrhage frequently took place owing to extensive sloughing of the skin over the mass, thereby rendering the man's condition a critical one, my colleague (Dr. Hay don) and myself deemed it advisable to operate at once. ̂ On the 16th January the patient was taken to the Kurseong Dispensary and placed upon good nourishing diet, and further ligemorrliage prevented by raising the tumour, etc. On the 20th January, haying summoned the aid of the Assistant-Surgeon (of Darjeeling Steam Tramway) and the Hospital Assistant, Government Dispensary, Kurseong, the operation was performed as follows :?
